The Economic Opportunity Act of 1964 created the National Commission on Economic Opportunity. Its mission was to “promote economic growth, develop economic stability, and promote economic welfare.” The Act established the National Endowment for Minority Business Development and other development programs. The agency was established in order to assist people who had been discriminated against in the past.
How does the government support this activity? The Economic Opportunity Act also authorized the establishment of local Community Action Agencies. These agencies are directly administered by the government. The Community Action Agency provides low- and no-cost financial assistance to groups in distress. It also provides information on job training and conducts seminars and workshops to provide advice on how to find work. (Note: You can also contact the US department of labor for more specific information about how to get a job with the US department of labor.)
The EEOAs support small businesses and family farms, especially in rural areas. They also help people with skills such as land management and contracting, education and language skills, and business development. Some funds are available to start or expand businesses; some are available to assist people in starting new businesses that generate employment for local residents.
Many organizations have arisen to realize the importance of the economic opportunity program. The Business Opportunity Exchange is one such organization. Another important group is the National Center for Small Business and Entrepreneurship. They publish a monthly magazine called Small Business News. There is also the Business Opportunity Magazine.
There are also other private organizations such as the United States Chamber of Commerce. These associations have formed interdepartmental task forces to coordinate government activities and handle complaints. Many have developed comprehensive complaint handling systems, and they regularly train their employees to be aware of and handle any complaint that may come up.
The economic opportunity act is probably best described as a national forum whereby government and business meet to enhance economic growth. It is important to remember that the United States has a distinct advantage over other nations when it comes to economic opportunity. Other countries do not have a system set up for economic opportunity. In fact, many countries have far more regulations and licensing requirements for small businesses than the US does. For that reason the United States has developed an economic opportunity agenda, and every government has made serious attempts to follow through on those plans.
