The latest addition to the world of football, the new soccer show “RFC EP” is a Spanish language version of the popular soap opera “Fierce Fighting”. This football competition became popular worldwide due to its all Spanish speakers cast. It was also made in Spain, where soccer is a major part of the culture. It's just like a normal soap opera in the beginning, with four soap characters – roommates, coach, trainer and referee – who are forced to become Real Madrid's very own football team.
Just like other versions of this soap opera, FC Barcelona plays the part of the favorite football team of their soap character. In this show, there are ten players who play the different roles of FC Barcelona players. The players are roommates of a certain Juanito, ex-basketball star, who was forced to leave his team to work full time in a supermarket. His five roommates are Lucas, Ramon, Pau and Diego. They only get together when they need to cover the games for the Barcelona games. Their good-natured and playful quarrels and bickering often end up with them in the dirt.
They are joined by guitarist Pau, who is the singer of the punk band “Piss Me Off”. The football team is a huge hit in the Spanish speaking country and it was seen that a lot of people were fascinated by them. The show became very popular among young Spanish fans. It also gained a lot of sponsorships and has been shown on national television. It became even more famous when FC Barcelona signed Mauro Vazquez as their new signing.
One of the newest players joining is Argentinean striker, Argentine striker, Mauro Vazquez. He plays in the left wing position. He is very talented, with speed and a lethal shot. Vazquez says that he feels very good, because he has so many friends playing soccer. Vazquez is hoping to become the next Colombia World Cup star.
FC Barcelona has won the previous four Spanish La Premios tournaments and currently leads the standings. However, they are not satisfied with this, and they want more. Fans of the soccer team have started supporting another team, known as “Pau” or “Tenerife”. This is the home-country team of FC Barcelona's nemesis, Real Madrid. Therefore, there are huge amounts of support for the Pitas.
The next World Cup tournament, scheduled to be held in Germany in June 2009, is already shaping up to be one of the most exciting tournaments in years. Vazquez, one of the stars of the Spanish football team, is already saying that this year's competition will be very tough, and FC Barcelona is one team that they are concerned about. If they win this World Cup, it would mean that FC Barcelona is one team that has a solid chance at winning the championship in Europe once again.
So, what is so special about Real Madrid? Well, a lot of fans of the sport feel that this is a team that has a lot of talent, but they do not think they are able to make it big just yet. It seems that as soon as they put on the red and white shirt, things start to click. Maybe the stadium is a little . . . . . . too small, maybe the players do not gel well together, or perhaps they are a bit under class. Whatever the case may be, the team itself does not seem to be distracted by these little details. They continue playing at a high level, playing what they know how, and earning the trophies.
All of this being said, it seems as if Real Madrid has been given the benefit of the doubt in recent times. They have qualified from their group of players to the quarter finals in an incredibly difficult tournament. They have done this despite the loss of three key players, and they did it with flying colours. If FC Barcelona cannot go beyond the elimination stage, then I don't see how anyone can second place in this season's prestigious tournament.
