There is not much information on AP Micro Macro Economics, so I thought I would try and give a short guide as to how to play it. I'm not an expert so this article is based on my limited knowledge, so you might find it a little hard to understand.
AP Micro Macro is a game of economic calculation that can be played by almost any age group. You don't need to be able to read numbers or use graphs. This means it's ideal for parents who want to teach their kids about the market economy.
The first thing you will need to know if you wish to play AP Micro Macro Economics is what the different parts of it are. This is actually pretty simple. To start with, you have the board itself. The board consists of four horizontal rows which represent money, stocks, bonds, and interest. The middle row has two spaces for each stock and bond, representing the different types of assets.
The four rows are broken down into two sections: the Stock Market and the Balance Sheet. On each section you will see a list of the different types of assets held by the company. You will need to click on each asset to bring up its description and value. When you have finished, click the “Assets” tab at the top of the screen and you will be presented with a list of all the assets in the company. You will also notice that the company's name will appear at the bottom of the screen. Clicking on one of these will show you a list of all the assets the company holds.
The next part of the game involves the Stock Market. As previously mentioned, each type of asset on the board represents a particular asset in the stock market. By looking at the names on the asset list you can tell which assets are being traded, the current prices, and the volume of the asset over the last few days.
After you have completed this task you will then need to make an investment. You will need to buy stock by clicking on the corresponding asset. Each time you do so your company's balance will rise, until you reach a certain amount of money that you need to make one last investment to close your business.
After completing this you will then have the opportunity to look at your balance sheet and learn more about the company as a whole. You can also look at your company's profit and loss account and make sure your business is doing well.
AP Microeconomics is really a lot of fun and is recommended for a variety of ages. There is really no end to how complex your game can get, so take some time and think about how you can make this game more enjoyable for yourself.
